Well, Nate can now officially celebrate his birthday. The package that we sent arrived yesterday....that's 8 days people!! We have come a long way from the 30+ days of transit time. Anyway, he said thank you to Bob and Marica for the slides. He was very excited about them. He loved the IPod and all of the goodies that we sent. I keep asking what he specifically wants us to send, but he rarely will tell me anything. He is thrilled to get whatever we send, so he doesn't ask for anything.
The weather is getting even hotter over there...they are getting closer to 120 during the day. Just for fun he puts on full gear (full camis, bullet proof vest, backpack) which weighs something like 20 lbs and goes for a run each day. He said it has actually caught on and a few other people are doing it with him now. He considers this training for his next 10k. I call this...crazy. For all the other moms out there saying in your head "he better be careful doing that in that heat!"...that is exactly what I told him. I'm sure he won't listen.
In my last email to him I had sent a picture of Mav that we had from our vacation with them last summer. It is an adorable picture and he was so happy to get it. I think I will try to do that more often even though I don't have recent pictures of him. We have some cute ones of Mav with his Daddy and just different pictures of Mav that will hopefully help. He isn't getting to skype them as often now with his new work schedule, so I think he is missing Mav and Mailie even more now.
Quote of the day:
"The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life."
