Nate has internet again! We actually got to chat a little yesterday and it was soooo nice. He was laughing at me because I had told him that the FRO (family readiness officer) had sent an email saying shoe box sized boxes were the best size to send. He said: Mom, you get that they don't actually have to be shoe boxes, right? Apparently actual shoe boxes don't hold up very well when they are shipped that far. He said it was amazing that there was anything in the boxes when they got there because they were so beat up and broken. Luckily, I had started collecting small boxes from work, so the third package is NOT a shoe box.
So, in his "spare time" Nate has signed up for a martial arts class so that he can get the next belt (I forget which one he is on now). I think that class lasts six weeks. He also signed up for a French class. His theory is since he is right next to the Canadians, a French class may help. He also signed up for a 10k to raise money for the veterans. Not sure when he is planning to sleep, but I think he is so used to not sleeping that it doesn't affect him too much.
He said Mav is doing much better. For those of you that don't know, Mailie had to take Mav to the hospital on Sunday. He was throwing up and couldn't even keep Pedialyte (no idea how to spell that) down. They started an IV because he was dehydrated and ran some tests. Everything came back okay, he just has a nasty flu bug but he was really out of it. Thank God he is doing better...one less worry.
Please remember to keep all of our service people and their families in your thoughts and prayers!
