For anyone following this blog regularly, you will have noticed that my updates have slowed down. Nate has been really busy and unable to give me much information lately, so I haven't had much to say. Ironically, today I'm talking about him not having anything to say! I am reminded of the scene in Apollo 13 (Google it kids, it's a good movie!) when they are rotating around the moon and get to the back side and loose contact with the space station. Right now Nate is on the dark side of the moon. Their contract with the internet provider that they use for the personal email is up and they are getting a new provider. There is going to be some down time right now, where they do not have any personal internet available. I did not hear from Nate at all yesterday and have not so far today, nor do I expect to. It's always hard knowing that he is over there, but there is something so reassuring about at least being able to IM back and forth about the everyday stuff. It doesn't take away from what is going on, but it does give you a sense of normality. Hopefully this "quiet time" won't last too long.
On to happier subjects! As most of you know, Nate's birthday is the 21st of this month. I am going to try to put together an extra special package to send for his birthday (that he will hopefully receive). Also if anyone else is planning to send a card or package, I recommend getting it in the mail soon. Letters seem to be averaging about 10 days to get there and packages...well, who knows.
Hopefully everyone was able to read the post from yesterday. It was a great inspiration to Nate and although, due to technical difficulties it didn't copy well into my blog, I hope everyone was able to see the whole thing and read it.
